CVU Summer Camp Staff 2020

Rick Kinsman 
Summer Camp Director
Rick Kinsman is currently a para-educator and Link Crew coordinator at CVU.  He has a bachelor of science in recreation from Lyndon State College. Rick has worked in the hospitality industry for the past ten years, mostly with ski school and summer camps.  Before making the move to CVU he was the Stowe parks and recreation summer camp director.  Rick is excited to have the opportunity to help students grow and learn about themselves while getting to know some of their future classmates in a fun and exciting summer camp setting at CVU.   In Rick's spare time he loves to spend time with his family by the lake, he enjoys gardening and teaching hip hop dance.

Megan Rogers
Assistant Director 
Megan is attending Southern New Hampshire University. She is studying Elementary and Special Education. This will be her fourth year as a camp counselor at the CVU summer camp! Megan has participated in Rowing, Volleyball, Class Council, Habitat for Humanity, and the American Red Cross club while at CVU. In her free time she loves to paddleboard and hang out with family and friends. She also loves volunteering and giving back to the community. Megan is very excited to get to know each and everyone of the rising 9th graders!

Grace
Counselor
Grace is a rising junior and this is her second year being a counselor. Grace is looking forward to meeting all the ninth graders this summer! Last summer she was a CIT and she really enjoyed the experience As a CIT Grace has the opportunity to experience many interest areas and meet everyone in each interest area group. The interest area she  enjoyed being a part of the most would have to be outdoor recreation and music and movement. Grace enjoys being behind stage as a sound crew member for CVU’s musicals, kayaking, and traveling. Grace can’t wait to spend another summer with all the new faces to CVU.

Joe 
Counselor
Joe is a rising junior. One of Joe's passions is playing soccer and is an active part of the CVU Soccer team. He plays forward as his position.  In his spare time Joe loves to listen to music and hang out with Friends.  You can always find Joe with a smile in the hallways. His favorite activity at summer camp was capture the flag. While at CVU his favorite class is Life team sports where you get to learn fun sports that you can play for your whole life.  Joe is so excited to meet all the incoming ninth graders and welcome them to CVU.

Sophie
Counselor
Sophie is a rising Junior at CVU. She was a CIT last year and is looking forward to being a counselor this upcoming summer! In her free time Sophie loves to dance, swim, work with her 4-H cows, and play golf. She also loves to go to the beach and hang out with friends. She can’t wait to get to know all the incoming ninth graders as they join the CVU community.

Gus
Counselor
Gus Serinese is a rising Junior at CVU. He is ready to take his C.I.T knowledge from last year and become a full-time counselor. Gus is a runner both in cross country and track, plays dungeons and dragons with his friends, and travels with his family. His favorite subjects are Spanish and Humanities. He cares for his CVU community and wants to include everyone. Gus is very excited to welcome the incoming class of 2024!

Counselor 
Joe is a proud rising senior at CVU. He is an advocate for anti bullying and disability rights.  Joe enjoys all classes at CVU, especially social studies. In his free time Joe enjoys music, movies, attending sports events, and finding the best milk shakes in the community.  Joe looks forward to welcoming incoming 9th graders and sharing his sense of humor with everyone. ​

Sophia
Counselor
Sophia is a rising 11th grader. 
Sophia hopes to help new students discover the camaraderie of the CVU community.  She loves to play softball and field hockey as well as playing with her dog. Sophia enjoys cooking, baking and spending time outdoors. She is passionate about her math and science classes. Sophia had an amazing experience as a camper and wants to provide the same welcoming experience to incoming 9th graders.

Rahn
Fitness Center/ Counselor
Rahn has been at CVU for 17 years; in the Fitness Center for 13 of those summers. For the last 10 years, Rahn has been a certified personal trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
By day, Rahn coordinates the Learning Center which provides academic support to all students, 9th through 12th grade, in all subjects. He is currently the adviser to our GSA, Student ACT, Students for Racial Justice, and Link Crew mentors groups. In Rahn's free time, he enjoys playing with his forearm's-worth-of-a-dog, Hermes the Wonder-Yorkie. Rahn wants to be a part of the CVU Summer Camp experience for the same reason he enjoys everything else he gets to do around CVU: it is an opportunity to get to know new students as they enter our school, as well as to get to know familiar students in new, meaningful ways. Plus, it's just a ton o fun!!

Jaden
CIT
Jaden is a rising tenth grader. He is part of the volleyball and track team. At CVU Jaden has taking the initiative to join a few clubs such as the ping pong club, Magic The Gathering club and Neuroscience club. Jaden spend most of his time building things with cardboard. Jaden loves being outside but also enjoys playing DND. In the winter he enjoys skiing and enjoys helping his grandparents with their sugaring during the early spring.  Jaden is excited to give the same exciting experience he receive when he came to CVU last year.

Burgess
CIT
Burgess Gove is a rising sophomore. He is involved in the rowing team and really enjoyed his time learning how to work as a team on a boat. In his spare time he enjoys playing ping-pong and joined the ping-pong club at CVU. In his free time Burgess enjoys listening to music and being with family and friends. Burgess can always be there to help with a problem or just lend a smile.  He is excited to challenge the incoming ninth graders to a game of ping-pong.

CIT
Skyler is a rising Sophomore at CVU. She is very excited to be a CIT for CVU Summer Camp! In her free time Skyler likes to go flying, she has hopes of getting her pilots license when she is 17. Skyler also enjoys in her free time hiking with her dog, and Nordic skiing. She loved being a camper at the summer camp last year and wanted to give back to the community. She is very excited to welcome the class of 2024!

CIT
Emma is a rising Sophomore at CVU.  Emma is involved in the class of 2023 Class Council and was looking forward to playing softball for CVU.  In her free time, Emma enjoys baking, playing softball, meeting new people, and hanging out with her friends. She highly enjoyed her experience as a camper last summer at the CVU summer camp and is now wanting to give rising ninth graders the same experience! She is excited to get to know and help introduce the ninth graders to the CVU community we all know and love.

Saphirre 
CIT 
Saphirre is a rising tenth grader at CVU. She is an active member of CVU soccer team. Saphirre is quick with a smile and a warm hello. In her spare time she enjoys traveling to new places and enjoys hiking through the beautiful green mountain scenery of Vermont. Saphirre is excited to be apart of the Summer Camp and help nervous students to feel welcome and take positive risks as they make the transition to CVU.

CIT
Katherine is a rising tenth grader from Williston. She can be a little silly and goofy but prides herself on being kind and friendly. Some of her favorite things are cooking, painting, pottery, and dancing.  Feel free to chat with Katherine about her love of Superheros, Star Wars, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Katherine learned so much during her first year at CVU and the parts she loves the most about CVU is how kind and helpful everyone is, it made the transition much easier! "I can’t wait for CVU summer camp!"

CIT
Kate is a rising tenth grader at CVU. She is an active member in CVU athletics such as soccer, basketball and softball. When she isn't on the playing field or court you can find her baking and being outdoors. Kate is very involved in the community and clubs at the high school such as key club and principals advisory council which helps to make decisions for the student body with the Principal. She is passionate about humanities and photography classes. Kate had a amazing experience as a camper and is excited to meet the incoming 9th graders and introduce them to the CVU community.

CIT
Brianna is a rising tenth grader at CVU. She is exited to start her CVU summer camp experience off as a CIT. Brianna enjoys being a part of the basketball, softball, and volleyball teams at CVU. Brianna loves baking, art, music and traveling with her family. She values hanging out with friends. Her favorite subject is Humanities and she also recommends taking intro to art. She hopes to help make bonds that will last a lifetime. Brianna can’t wait to welcome class of 2024 with open arms!

Zoe is a rising sophomore at CVU. She is excited for the opportunity of being a CIT. Zoe is looking forward to meeting new people and helping ninth graders find new friends.  Last summer Zoe went to cvu summer camp and really enjoyed the experience. Zoe is an active team member of the CVU  volleyball team. When she's not on the court you can find her enjoying the outdoors.  Zoe can’t wait to meet new people and help them find there way around CVU with a smile.
