Joey O'Brien (He/Him/His)
Summer Camp Director
Joey O'Brien is currently a Learning Center Tutor at CVU, specializing in math and science. He also coaches Girls Varsity Volleyball and helps out with the Boys Tennis program. He has a bachelor of science in physics from the University of Vermont. Joey has worked at CVU since his graduation from UVM in 2018. Joey is looking forward to being a part of CVU Summer Camp, and hopes to help provide students with a fun and educational introductory CVU experience. In Joey's spare time he loves to read (especially sci-fi & fantasy). He enjoys playing tennis and volleyball, as well as playing board & table-top games.

Feel free to email Joey with any questions at cvusummercamp@cvsdvt.org

Samantha (she/her/hers)
Assistant Director
Samantha is excited to be returning to the CVU Summer Camp in a leadership role because she enjoyed her three years as a counselor.  Samantha is currently attending Southern New Hampshire University and will be a sophomore in the fall. Aside from summer camp, Sam also works at Synergy Fitness and waitresses at Bucky’s Pub in Hinesburg. In high school Sam competed in both high school and club gymnastics. She also loves skiing, getting outside, and meeting new people! She is excited to come back to the CVU Summer Camp family and work with incoming 9th graders, along with current CVU counselors!

Rylee (He/Him/His)
Assistant Director
Rylee is incredibly excited to be returning to Summer camp for his third year! He is a graduating Senior returning to camp to help run the new Leadership Development program and Counselor in Training Program. Along with being a counselor the past few years Rylee has been the head officer of CVU Student ACT and a member of the Social Justice Alliance. He also enjoys playing football, rowing, biking, singing and acting. CVU Summer Camp has always been a supportive community for Rylee whether as a Camper or a Counselor. He is looking forward to helping expand and develop the program that was so beneficial for him and many others. He cannot wait for Summer and to meet all the new members of the CVU Summer Camp family.

Rahn (He/Him/His)
Assistant Director
Rahn has been at CVU for 20 years; in the Fitness Center for 15 of those summers. For the last 13 years, Rahn has been a certified personal trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
By day, Rahn coordinates the Learning Center which provides academic support to all students, 9th through 12th grade, in all subjects. He is currently the adviser to our GSA, Student ACT, Students for Racial Justice, and Link Crew mentors groups. In Rahn's free time, he enjoys playing with his forearm's-worth-of-a-dog, Hermes the Wonder-Yorkie. Rahn wants to be a part of the CVU Summer Camp experience for the same reason he enjoys everything else he gets to do around CVU: it is an opportunity to get to know new students as they enter our school, as well as to get to know familiar students in new, meaningful ways. Plus, it's just a ton o fun!!
